My Journey

I’ve been a dedicated practitioner of natural medicine since 2007. My passion lies around empowering patients to understand their own bodies health needs and to then support them through their healing journey.
As a Holistic Therapist, I enjoy being able to bridge the gap between holistic and western medicine while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which to heal. I am always looking to integrate new treatments and therapies into my practice and believe that continued learning is important for any good Holistic Therapist

Education and Experience

Professional Background

I graduated from Endevour College of Natural Medicines in 2007. I’ve been practicing holistic medicine since. I’ve studied a range of modalities and am always adding to my professional knowledge. As part of my consultations towards your healing journey I integrate lots of assistive tools such as iridology, tongue analysis, nail analysis and use of external testing.

During the final years of studying before becoming a qualified practitioner, I commenced part time work in Health Food Retail. I continued working in retail even after I graduated as it gave me the opportunity to advice multiple customers on a range of different health conditions on a daily basis. The exposure in retail has further influenced my urge to learn and educate myself further so that I can be of more support when advising customers. Nothing is more rewarding then knowing that you may have had a positive impact on an individual’s healing journey. Over the years I have worked in multiple positions in Health Food Retail and have had the pleasure of running clinic within stores. During covid I gave up working my high-powered job so that I could be of better support to my son. After a lengthy break it was time to return into my element where I am most happy.

Founder, Gem's Alternative Health

August 2021 - Current

Gem's Alternative Health was established in August 2021. After many long years of working a high powered job I took a lengthy break to focus on my family and myself. The break gave me the opportunity to self reflect and recenter my self before returning back into my element where I am most happy. The business name reflects the impact my son (Cem – pronounced Gem) has on the way I perceive life, hence why I decided to name my business after my son, Gem's Alternative Health. At a very young age Cem, was diagnosed with a brain tumour which has led to multiple health issues including loss of vision. Over the years Cem has been exposed to lots of invasive treatment protocols by where we have also incorporated natural therapies as support. For a child who had experienced so much trauma at a young age, he was still resilient, happy, loving, and full of life. Although he is now legally blind, he looks at life through a positive lens of inner maturity. He has taught me that we take one day and one step at a time and appreciate what we have now. Natural therapies requires the same mentality. It takes time, dedication and appreciation. If given the opportunity and proper support, the body can and will heal itself.
